We arrived early Friday morning, took a nap and woke up on time to head down to Chinatown for lunch. It was my first time at Joe’s Shanghai and for me, the soup dumplings were delicious.

After lunch we headed down to The Met. Four hours there and I still didn’t walk around the whole museum.

After The Met it was time to get ready for dinner. The restaurant we were trying to go to had a 30 minute wait. So we walked a few blocks down and ended up at a restaurant called Kiku Sushi. Unfortunately I didn’t take any pictures because I was busy stuffing my face with deliciousness. After dinner we headed to Banc Cafe and Fat Baby for drinks.

The next morning the boyfriend and I went to watch The Lion King. Such a good show!

Afterwards we headed down to Coopers Craft & Kitchen to watch the Niners game. From there we headed to get Artichoke Pizza. The artichoke pizza was really good but heavy. I wouldn’t be able to do two slices the way I can with regular pepperoni pizza. We also tried the margarita and crab pizza.

The rest of that night was crazy. We hit up a lounge/restaurant called Iguana. My friend Shirley came out to meet me but by the time she got there I was already drunk.

We got chicken and rice from a popular halal cart but unfortunately I fell asleep after two or three bites.

The next morning we headed to brunch at Essex Restaurant. Decorated with tennis balls on the walls.

This place got packed quick. I’ve never seen so many people waiting for brunch. Luckily our friends had reservations.

After brunch we headed down to the 9/11 memorial. Being from a different city, let a lone on the opposite side of the country, you don’t realize how that day was for people living in New York. In the museum they had photos a long with video footage from that day.

From there we headed back to the hotel room to relax a little bit before going to watch the Giants vs. Packers game. After watching the game at a local bar, we went to get some Korean fried chicken from Mad for Chicken. I believe that’s what it’s called at least. Haha but those were some pretty good chicken wings. The bartender also gave us free shots and I must say they were fuckin delicious. Yes. Fuckin delicious.

The last stop that night was Rockefeller.

I had to stop by Times Square to get nuts. Yea, that’s right. Nuts. Every time I’m in NYC I have to get the street nuts! Honey roasted almonds and peanuts. YUM.

We had to leave for the airport by 8:30am so our last stop before leaving was Doughnut Plant. We woke up at 7am to get it!

Pat’s girlfriend Jenny brought us to a flight simulator! I probably had the most fun here. Haha The machine actually moves like you’re in a plane and when you walk inside it’s like you’re in the cockpit. The windows are a big screen so you can set what airport you’re flying out of. Ours was set to SFO of course.

After that we headed to Seattle to drop some people off at the Space Needle.

Then we headed to High 5 Pie. Reg is a foodie and found this place online. They’re known for their various kinds of pies; pies in a jar, “cutie pie”, lollipop pies…I didn’t really take any photos of the pies…because we ended up eating them…but Reg might have some pics on her blog. It was SO delicious. Reg ordered a peanut butter & chocolate pie that was seriously one of the best tasting pies I have ever had. Besides my apple cutie pie and lollipop pie, I ordered a chocolate cream pie that was pretty good. It wasn’t too heavy like most chocolate pies are. But it was still filling with chocolate delight! Like I said, I didn’t get pictures of the place or all their pies, but I loved the way the place looked. It has that vintage 1950′s look to it with vintage looking appliances.

After that we headed to Paseo. Reg really wanted to try the pulled pork sandwiches which is what they’re known for, but unfortunately they were sold out and we ended up getting a regular rice place dish. I got the chicken which was good but a little dry.

After that we met everyone else up at the Underworld Tour. Something I didn’t know about Seattle, it’s pretty much built on top of another city. So the photos I have are actually underground where there were once buildings and streets. The tour was pretty funny because it was vulgar and talks a lot about whores and prostitutes but at the same time it was interesting.

Then the night began and we went out to Ibiza for a couple drinks. Reg and I were of course drunk and everyone else went home after the first club while Pat and Jenny brought us to Copper Cart to meet up with their other friends. I really liked Copper Cart. The crowd reminded me of home and the music was good too. I was surprised to hear them play E-40 but it didn’t stop Reg and I from getting a little hyphy. Haha

The next morning we went to Pat’s graduation. Afterwards we headed to dinner at a Korean BBQ joint and then we headed back to the airport to head home.

We did a lot in the two days and one night that we were there! Next time I head up I hope to stay longer so I can see more of Seattle.

Meesh and Portia were home visiting from Philly so we brought them to our old stomping ground at a Mediterranean Restaurant called Pride of the Mediterranean on Fillmore. To be honest, I don’t usually order food there. If anything I’ll order fries (so typical of me). But if you wanna chill with some hot tea and hookah it’s definitely a good place to go. Make sure the owner, Sharky, helps you out. He’s a really cool guy and always takes care of his customers.

The next day I spent the afternoon in Chinatown. I headed for the Cameron House Carnival. Cameron House was originally a missionary for Asian women during the late 1870′s. For years now they’ve held summer day camps, youth groups and many other programs to help the community. My parents used to go to Cameron House and before my freshman year of high school they forced me to spend the summer as a day camp leader. I hated the idea of it but once I started going I grew to love it. I got to meet a ton of great people, including some that I’m still in touch with, and I give all the credit to Cameron House for teaching me  how to get around in the city (I lived in the suburbs at the time). Every year Cameron House throws a carnival to raise money for day camps and youth groups and since I didn’t go the last few years I decided I should go. I definitely felt old. Majority of “my kids” (the ones that I was a leader for, meaning they were anywhere from 1st-8th grade at the time) are in college or have already finished college. But it was good seeing some familiar faces. Btw, have you ever watched The Pursuit of Happyness? I believe the basketball scene was filmed on the upper deck basketball court there (I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure it was).

Later that night, after getting chicken wings and my favorite chow fun from Chinatown, I headed to Augs’ place to bbq and watch the Pacquiao fight. The homeboys were in Vegas and so the girls (+ Fern) decided to bbq.

Now off I go with a busy week ahead of me!

I had work all day Saturday and then headed out to Santa Clara with my friend Trae for the J Boog concert. I effin loved it. It was nice to be one of the shorter ones in the club. Haha

J Boog was awesome and if you don’t know who he is…maybe you’ve heard his song “Let’s Do it Again”. It makes me wanna be in Hawaii soooooooo bad.

Sunday I managed to make it to work in the morning and later that night headed out to Yoshi’s in SF for Goapele’s concert. It was probably the third time I’ve seen her in concert and she’s just as amazing as the first time. If you’ve never seen her, I suggest going.

Augs and Trae put me on a new artist by the name of Mateo and he happened to record a song with Goapele. So he showed up on stage with her to perform it. I absolutely love this song and can’t get this shit out of my head.

Successful weekend to say the least. Now to tackle this coming week and have another awesome weekend.

This Saturday my good friend Regina is teaming up with Jessica to host a bake sale. Regina is a foodie and loves to bake so she is donating her time and delicious delights to help raise money for C.U.M.F.O.R.T.S. blanket. Both Jessica and Regina will be at Dolores Park in San Francisco this Saturday from 12pm-4pm. All items will be $1 and ALL PROCEEDS will be donated. So if you’re free, come out to enjoy a day in the park with delicious treats and help contribute for a good cause!

We did however get to taste the potato pancakes which were tasty. The boys ordered things from breaded wiener schnitzel’s to meatloaf and the food looked delicious. You know we had to have a little taste of their food! It’s definitely good and I can’t wait to go back to have a full meal there…along with a das boot!

ANYWAYS…this past Friday I went out to the movies with Reg and Arthur. Reg and I were browsing Moviefone.com to see what movies were out and Reg, being a fan of How I Met Your Mother, turned me onto the movie Happythankyoumoreplease (yes that’s the movie title. just like that). It’s an indie film that was awarded at the Sundance Film Festival last year and was written, directed and starred Josh Radnor (an actor from How I Met Your Mother). We decided to watch it and Arthur met us up at the theater.

I honestly LOVED this movie. Definitely a movie that I think some people can relate to. If you have the time I suggest checking it out. It’s only playing at the Landmark theater in the Embarcadero in the city.

After the movie we hit up a sushi restaurant downtown. I totally forgot the name of the restaurant. But it was pretty good.

The next night I was out with Rach @ The Tipsy Pig & Circa. The Marina gets more interesting every time I go. Lol New Hearts were put up in San Francisco…I really liked this one. Sorry for the horrible photos.
