Sorry Again…
…For being M.I.A. I’ve been pretty busy with summer school and changes that have been going on at work. Summer school was only for a month but it was twice a week, 4 hours each class. So I had to really stay on top of my shit. And then there was some schedule changes at work that basically meant I was working an extra day. Besides the regular school and work schedule, I headed to San Diego one weekend, attended birthday parties, a family reunion and a wedding, not to mention 4th of July shenanigans. I promise I’ll be back soon!
Until then…if you haven’t heard JR Aquino’s new song…enjoy.

Yesterday TOMS Shoes announced their new one for one product…TOMS Eyewear. Nordstroms announced it on their website and in stores yesterday. The sunglasses come in different models and colorways and pricing ranges from $135-$145. You can view the lookbook HERE. Check out the video for TOMS announcement of their new one for one and how the new eyewear product can help a person in need.
Photos: THE RE-UP
I couldn’t really title this post “THE RE-UP Recap”…only because I was only there for a good hour and a half…two hours tops. Blame it on work for missing the day’s festivities. I got there around 8pm and despite how late I was, it was still pretty crackin. It was fun catching up with people I haven’t seen in awhile, including my kindergarden friend Michi! Haha Make sure you stay tuned for next month’s party. It’ll be worth it.
PS. For some reason Roy and Evan are in half of my pictures…lol. And check out Unscripted’s blog for more of a recap.
Do You Remember: The Canuckmobile?
If you’re from Vancouver…I’m sure you’re a Canucks fan. I however, am not. Growing up in the Bay Area and having a brother that plays hockey, I’m a Sharks fan. Although I’ll admit, I’m not a die hard fan…only because I can NEVER see where the puck is when watching a game on TV. But being a former figure skater (not really…I was like…12)…I definitely respect any sport on skates.
Haha ANYWAYS…if you’re from Vancouver you might remember the Canuckmobile back in 1994. Yea, that was my cousin and his friend that created it. Looks like my Uncle’s trying to recreate the Canuckmobile since they’re in the Stanley Cup Finals.
You can read the article HERE.
I may not be a Canucks fan, but I love my family in Vancouver! Lol
Heeze’s Bday-Night One.
Last week we celebrated my cousin Karl’s birthday. He’s not my real cousin, but you know how it is in the Bay…somebody always knows someone else you know. In this case…his family and mom is friends with one of my uncles. So last Thursday we headed out to Nightlife at the Academy of Science. It was pretty cool even though I was only there for the last hour or so. Unfortunately I didn’t get to see all the exhibits…meaning someone has to bring me again. Lol
So true…
How a snake sees us.
Ran into these chicas!
After the Academy of Science we headed out to Otis where we met up with everyone else.
Adapt.
I Remember…
I remember my first time going to the Magic Trade Show. When I stepped onto the show floor I was overwhelmed with the brands I was around. Shocked by the fancy booths. Excited about being around people in the street wear industry.
Bigger brands had booths that looked like mini restaurants with a hostess stand. Others looked like mini stores. Some with even two floors. I was in awe.
But the one memory I took from that day was being invited into the LRG booth. We walked past their front desk (where I assumed buyers checked in) and went straight inside. Besides all the racks of clothes around me I noticed a guy in front of me sitting on a round sofa, chillin on his Sidekick…in my head I was like “holy shit, that’s Jonas, one of the founders of LRG. And behind him…Ben Baller.” I kept my cool, sipped my Heineken, and carried on. But better believe I was excited inside. To be around the person who built this multimillion dollar brand. The guy that designed these dope tees that my ex-boyfriend used to buy and I’d want to cut up and make into girl shirts (before they had Luxirie). The one that inspired all these other brands and people.
So when I heard about his passing yesterday I was in shock. I may not have personally known him, but he is known within the fashion industry as well as the music industry. He changed the street and urban wear scene and inspired so many people. He was definitely a pioneer and paved the way for others.
RIP Jonas Bevacque
Weekend
I started off my weekend by running errands all morning and early afternoon on Friday. That night I headed down to the ball park for Battle of the Bay aka Giants vs. A’s. I missed out on the snuggies that night
It’s okay though, I have one from last year…except mine doesn’t say world champs on it. We found out that one of the best places to stand and watch the game is the second floor of where the Coke bottle is. For one, you can see the game better than if you’re standing in the standing room area. Second, you get to people watch; I saw two different guys in handcuffs and I saw people I knew that had no clue I saw them. Haha
After the Giants won in the 10th inning (yes I had to throw that in there), I headed out to Pier 23. The homies from Lifted Roots were performing and it was a chill ass reggae night.
The next day I headed down to San Mateo where my friend Jess was having a garage sale to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I brought a lot of stuff to donate but then I of course ended up buying some stuff. Mainly books.
I think I donated about 15 pairs of shoes…two pairs being my shoes for junior and senior prom.
There was a litte girl next door that made cupcakes to sell…then she gave all the money she made to Jess to donate. Cutest thing ever…and delicious cupcakes!
My cousins from Vancouver/Richmond were visiting…no need to explain this picture. Boo Canucks! Lol
I ended up going out Saturday night but I was too busy being all over the place that I forgot to take my camera out of my purse. Trae and I hit up Bruno’s first and then we headed over to Minna. Fun nights like those are always the best.
