Engadget Mobile has done it again.

Angry Chinese woman sets 400 phones on fire

It’s a crazy, mixed-up world we live in. If we aren’t worrying about global warming or peace in the middle east, we have to be on the lookout for scorned women setting large quantities of mobile devices on fire. A certain Mrs. Wang is guilty of that latter offense. The 37-year-old Chinese woman wasn’t particularly stoked about her husband walking out on their marriage, so she did the only reasonable thing that presented itself: rounded up the entire stock of more than 400 phones the couple had at their joint-owned cellphone shop, and set the entire lot ablaze — inside her home. The collection was valued at roughly 300,000 yuan, about $42,000 US. You might want to take this time to inform your significant other how sane, rational and sexy he or she is, while simultaneously removing all lighter fluid from your home. No gadget is safe!

Not “angry woman”…but “angry CHINESE woman”!! Haha Damn, watch out for us Chinese ladies, huh? Not so “me love you long time”! Haha Gees what’s even funnier is I read the article to my Mom and she goes “That’s what happens when you cheat!”…umm…who said anything about the dude cheating?! Ahh…I get entertained easily. Can you tell?

pads & lampposts

Posted in Uncategorized by krisyee on March 6, 2008

So I was on Engadgetmobile.com reading about new cell phones and what not…then I came across this…

Padded lampposts for distracted texters being tested in London

According to a recent report, human beings are becoming so incredibly stupid that they require cushioned lamppost bases so that when they run into them they don’t mess up their idiotic faces. Apparently, a study in the UK found that one in ten people actually managed to hurt themselves by walking into a post while peering down at their mobile phone screen. The mishaps — called “walking and texting” injuries — have spurred the charity Living Streets to launch the padded-post-pilot scheme in Brick Lane, London. It seems that if all goes well, there are plans to roll out the idiot-proof system in Birmingham, Manchester, and Stupidton.

So I’m realizing that I’m getting pretty busy. When I’m not at school I’m either working at Verizon or Homeroom, volunteering for class to get hours by arrangement, doing homework, or just running errands. My days aren’t really days off anymore. This past weekend was crazy for me.

Friday after class I grabbed some grub and headed back to school around 2pm for my volunteer work. After a few hours we were done setting things up and I headed straight to the Homeroom office. Left there around 7:30pm and went home to get ready for Steph’s bday.

We met up at Steph’s house at about 9pm and chilled for a little. I don’t know who gave this to her, but Reg decided to eat some balls. YUUUUM FUNFETTI!!!

Steph celebrated her birthday at Horizon on Broadway (for all you old schoolers Horizon is the old Sake Lab). I ended up parking in the Chinatown area and while we were walking to Broadway I came across this. For those of you that don’t know me, I call my sister DeeDee.

The only reason why I thought it was funny was because this was right next to it…hah.

Me and Reg left for the club a little earlier than Steph did so we decided to stop by Impala where Alejandro (another VZDubber) was bartending.

I got a text from Kim asking where we were at and then I got one from J.
J: Come here I’m the darkest person here
K: Umm how am I gonna help you not be the darkest person there?
J: But u know my pain BUMBLE BEE!

Again, if you don’t know me that well…my friends call me BumbleYee…implying I’m a bumble bee…black and yellow. Yellow cause I’m Chinese…but they think I dance like a black girl. Lol
Anyways, off to Horizon to meet the folks.

While we were there I ran into Teeney who was there celebrating another bday.

When me and Reg were leaving we saw this couple with the guy basically giving the girl a lap dance and we were like “Wtf? Shouldn’t it be the other way around?”. And then we realized it was Steph. LOL Sorry Steph, had to put it up. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! haha

After Horizon we stopped by Butterfly for a little bit before we went home. I’m not gonna post incriminating pictures, but Reg got her groove on. Haha

I was planning on sleeping early that night, but after about 3.5 hours of sleep I headed to school to volunteer for a conference called Women on Writing from 7:30am-3pm. I didn’t realize how big the conference was but I guess considering tickets for the conference went from $60-$100 it was a big event. They had workshops throughout the day including book signings, book talk panels, and even a poetry slam. If you’re interested in writing give the website a look and check it out next year.

That night I headed over to Azul for the Homeroom birthdays of Alex and Dominique. Can you say hella crowded?

Was pretty fun though!
The boys from RCO in Santa Cruz
Mike, Joe, Ian, Jon

Ivy and her friends.

And the birthday girl with her girls.

Then there was the birthday boy.
G, Al, Josh, Rush

After Azul I stopped by Tina’s house party. By that time most people were gone but some of the folks were still there.

At least I got six hours of sleep that night. Better than 3. Woke up for work the next day…and the new week started all over again.

My birthday’s coming up. Any suggestions? Thinking of just chillin this year.

doesn’t hurt to ask

So I got my MacBook on Friday. Exchanged it out on Sunday. And again today.

Man what a great impression Apple has left on me! Just kidding. I love my MacBook. But it did suck that the first one was defective. Everything was fine except the “J” button wouldn’t work sometimes. So they exchanged it out and the second one was good to me. But then Apple decided to come out with NEW MacBooks today!

Same model, same price, but faster duo processor and a bigger hard drive. Just my luck huh? So I called the Apple store to ask if I could exchange it…again…and the girl told me to bring my stuff in but she couldn’t guarantee it. Really? That’s great. I also found out that if they were going to I’d have to pay the restocking fee of 10%. That’s $119 buddy. NO THANKS. Mike told me to go in and ask for a manager and so that’s what I did. I didn’t get to discuss my situation to the manager, but the guy that went to go get him did. So they were nice enough to exchange it out without me having to pay the restocking fee. So now I’m on my third MacBook in 5 days. But I really can’t complain. The people at the store have been good to me. Hopefully the next time I step foot into that store will be to buy fun accessories. Now it’s time to reload all my pictures and music…again.

Kong forwarded this email to a few of our friends today and I thought some of the pictures were hilarious. Just thought I’d share them with you! Enjoy.

So apparently Google answers all your questions.

Okay, I did start laughing out loud when I saw this.

I used to wear two polos together with the collar popped…but four? That’s just ridiculous.

And my favorites…

The ninja ones remind me of our friends!! Lol

macbooks + birthdays

YAY! I got a MacBook 🙂 After debating between the black and white one, I decided to settle with the white one with the 2.2GHz and 120GB hard drive. I figured, why not save $200 since I have an iMac and external hard drive? Let me tell you…I’m loving it! Glad I invested in one.

Anyways, so like I said in my first blog I’m pretty lazy at updating this thing. So here are some pictures from Jon’s birthday and Ize’s birthday.

The night of Jon’s party was the day I got back from Vegas and so I didn’t stay the whole time. For his birthday he decided to have a beer pong party which I must say is a dope idea for a birthday. They started playing after I left so I didn’t get to watch. If you want to see pictures you can check em’ out on Marcus’ blog.

That’s love right there!

Izelle celebrated her birthday yesterday at Public in the city. It felt like a reunion!

Crazy night from what I must say…or from what I’ve heard. I think I was lost the whole time because apparently I didn’t know what was going on. I’m not saying I was super drunk and didn’t remember anything. More like I was really lost and for some reason didn’t know what was going on with everyone. Where was I?!

So I never thought of having my own blog, but i guess you can say I had something like it when I had one of those online journal things. It’s been so long that I can’t even remember the name of the website. But admit it, that’s probably how blogging started. Nowadays blogs are a way to promote things and share experiences and I guess you can say this is what my blog’s about, but just to let you know, I probably won’t blog toooooo much…I get lazy and sometimes don’t have anything to say or show you. Guess it’s more of a personal reference for myself.

So, lets get my first story started!

This past week I was in Vegas for the Magic Tradeshow (no I’m not talking about Magic the card game…a clothing tradeshow) and United Tradeshow.

Tuesday: Alex, Gian, and Dom were already in Vegas and so I decided to fly in the day the shows started. I had a 7am flight with lovely Virgin America. It was my frist time with that airline, but damn…felt like I was in a

music video or something with the purple lights.

The lovely South City and blanket of fog.

Although there was that blanket of fog, there was still a beautiful sunrise.

After landing I headed to Alexis Park Resort where we were staying and where United was being held at. Gian was almost done setting up and to my surprise we had massage chairs in our booth. I won’t say how Gian got them, but I will say that you have to pay a dollar for five minutes in that thing.

People actually paid a dollar to sit in it for five minutes including these guys.

and Mike from Frank 151’s.

United is smaller compared to Magic and because we were doing two shows, Alex and Dom were at Magic while me and Gian were at United.

Just a peek of our new line of 5 panel hats. Check em out at our online store.

They look normal, but suuupliiiiise!

Wednesday:

I ran into my cousin Cindy from Daly City who was at United too for her friend’s clothing line.

That night I had dinner with my other cousin who lives in Vegas with her husband Keith and their daughter Mackenzie. Little Mackenzie is soooo cute.

Later that night we decided to go out. We were trying to check out a party at Prive in Planet Hollywood, but ended up going out to a party in the Palms.

Dom and I ended up going to another place after that but I think was pretty wasted to take pictures.

Thursday: The last day of United. Valentine’s Day…or if you’d like to say S.A.D (Single Awareness Day)
My cousin and her friends Jame and Loretta. They’re brand’s called 5733. Check em’ out.
Gian was multi-tasking. Talking on the phone, video chatting with his gf, and eating a cupcake that Alex’s gf had surprised us with for Valentine’s Day. Which by the way was yummy and very sweet of her. Thanks Ivy!
Alright…so American Apparel goes around giving out free stuff all the time. For girls it’s usually swim tops, thongs, bikini bottoms….and this swimsuit. First reaction…”Where do the nipples go?!” Now that I’m home…I might be curious enough to see how this thing fits.
Gian showing our neighbors from Real Deal some stuff on illustrator.
That night Neeks (sorry if spelled wrong) from Undefeated LV and Eugene from Hypebeast met up at our room so we could go out to dinner.
And then they drinking started…for the guys atleast.
We went to a couple parties that night. The first one was at Prive for the Triple5Soul party and then we headed to Tryst for the Creative Rec party…I think it was for Creative Rec…anyways…crackin.
Mike was there with his folks from LRG.
I went to bed around 4:30am that night…and woke up early the next day for Magic.
Friday: The last day of Magic.
Alex took Dom around some stores in the area so Gian and I worked the booth at Magic. Look at our booth. Dope huh?! Good job guys on setting it up…sorry I wasn’t there to help.
Here are a couple booths around us and some random pictures…

While I was walking around, checkin stuff out I ran into this booth…
Meaning I saw Yoshi! I’ve known Yoshi (aka Jess) since elementary school and if it wasn’t for this girl I wouldn’t have learned about the fashion industry and streetwear culture. She’s lives in NY and is a buyer for Fatlace and a sales rep for In4mation.
I also ran into a high school friend named Arian who’s part of Hit+Run in LA.
I stopped by the DimePiece booth to talk to Laura who I met at the last Magic Tradeshow. At only 21 years old, Laura and her partner created a succesful womens line and they’re continuing to grow. Thanks for the shirt girl!

Stopped by the Hypbeast booth to say “hi” to Season (sorry not sure if the spelling’s right) and to see if Eugene was hungover from the night before. Haha

One of the funniest guys you’ll ever meet.

After breaking down the booth…I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and found Gian like this. We had to wait for Alex to pick us up…so Gian decided to take a little nap.
While leaving I decided to just take some pictures while we were walking out. These booths are mad CRAZY. They look like stores…some with even 2 stories.

After Magic we were all pooped. I decided to stay at my cousin’s house that night and chill out.
Before we left today we went to check out a store called Fruition. They’re pretty dope with a lot of vintage stuff.

Alright…It’s time to stop by J’s house for his bday beer pong party.

Holla.
