Don Jon aka JGL

Posted in celebrities, events, movies, SF by krisyee on September 17, 2013

So I went to a special screening of Don Jon, a movie written and directed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Now for those of you that don’t know me, I am a JGL fan. I had always thought he was cute in 3rd Rock from the Sun and 10 Things I Hate About You, but it was his style in 500 Days of Summer that made me swoon (I feel like I use that word whenever I talk about him). Anyways, my sister had told me about the screening and so I immediately hopped on a couple passes and asked the boyfriend to come with. I had found out JGL was at the Twitter offices today and was hoping he would show up at the screening. And because he’s awesome, he did! Unfortunately I was kind of far while my sister, brother in law, and a couple of friends were in the front row! But it’s okay…I can now say I was in the same room as him.

Linkubus.

This past Friday I headed to The Shoreline Amphitheater for the Honda Civic Tour featuring Incubus and Linkin Park. I bought tickets for the boyfriends birthday, which was a couple of weeks ago, and was trying to surprise him until he said he was going to try to buy tickets. FAIL. But the surprise lasted pretty long considering I bought the tickets back in June. Anyways, the seats I got were pretty good and right in the middle of the row. The boyfriend had never seen Incubus in concert and I had never seen Linkin Park, so you can imagine how stoked we were. And yes, I just said stoked. I really wanted Incubus to play “I Miss You”, but instead they did a great version of “Promises, Promises” which I got on video. They also did a cover of Lionel Richie’s “Hello” which definitely surprised everyone. Linkin Park was amazing AMAZE BALLS and I felt like I should have been jumping around going crazy, which I totally would have done if 1) I was drunk and 2) maybe if I had lawn seats, but it was a packed house and there wasn’t much space around our seats. Linkin Park was awesome and my throat was hurting by the end of the night. I don’t understand how Chester can scream/sing like that all the time, but DAMN he’s good. AWESOME SHOW!

Sorry for the small videos!

Coachella Day 3.

Posted in coachella, events, fun, jams by krisyee on April 20, 2012

The third day of Coachella was probably one of the best days. The weather was great and because it was the last day we had to live it up!

Tello and I  headed there early since he wanted to see Band of Skulls. Since you can hear everything from the main stage at the beer garden, we decided to chill there and grab some drinks while we waited for the other car of people to get there. By the time they got there Santigold was up.

Whitney and Sarah! And “the other guy”, aka Thomas, in the background. Haha

Whitney and JC.

John and Sarah.

Met up the boyfriend and his friends. By the last day the full bar ran out of Jameson. Jager bombs had to do.

Ran into the lovely Jasmin! If you live in the bay and need birthday cakes or cupcakes, hit her up at The Flour Girls!

Walking with Jenn and Whitney.

Mr. Handsome. 🙂

Whitney had some paint and John wanted a stick figure on his chest…Lol But his doppelganger is in the background. Haha

The Weeknd during sunset. Baby making music.

My one photo of Justice.

Whitney was going at it with the paint. I think I was just standing there and she came up and put two lines of paint on my face. Lol

BTW, Tello’s friends are awesome. Had a great weekend with them!

Snoop! We were kind of far for this. I’ll be honest. I lost track of time and was too into the hot link I was eating. By the time I was done we heard the music start. It was still awesome watching Snoop, Dre, Kurupt, Eminem, and 50. Can’t forget the resurrection of Tupac. Which btw, when you’re far like we were…we couldn’t tell if someone was acting as Pac or what the hell it was. Although I had heard rumors or a hologram before the show, it was still kind of weird and we didn’t know how to feel about it. Lol

I had an awesome time and although I’m currently sick, it was well worth it! Until next year Coachella. I’m definitely coming back.

Coachella Day 2.

Posted in coachella, events, fun, jams by krisyee on April 19, 2012

It was nice and sunny the second day of Coachella. I was happy it cleared up! But for some odd reason I ended up wearing pants that day. Maybe because I was scared it was going to be hella cold at night.

First of the day on our list…Childish Gambino.

Apparently there’s a video on YouTube of a guy climbing this bamboo thing…and then falling off. I’m too chicken shit to watch it though.

Sebastian Ingrosso.

And David Guetta.

Ferris wheel time!

And Radiohead.

Coachella Day 1.

If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter then you know I headed to Coachella this past weekend. Sorry if I flooded your timelines with photos! It was my first time going and although my original plans, along with my second set of plans, didn’t work out I still had a great fucking time. I took a ton of pictures and because of that I’m going to have a post for each day I was there. The festival started on Friday but I flew down to LA on Thursday to meet up my friend Mike. His friends rented a condo for Coachella so we headed down to Palm Desert to meet them. Weather forecasts predicted rain on Friday but luckily it wasn’t pouring. We had some sprinkles here and there, but nothing too major. It was definitely cold by the end of the night though.

Hello Tello.

Ran into Daniel!

Neon Indian.

Ran into Peter.

Yea. That happened.

Mayka!

Photos: THE RE-UP

Posted in events by krisyee on June 7, 2011

I couldn’t really title this post “THE RE-UP Recap”…only because I was only there for a good hour and a half…two hours tops. Blame it on work for missing the day’s festivities. I got there around 8pm and despite how late I was, it was still pretty crackin. It was fun catching up with people I haven’t seen in awhile, including my kindergarden friend Michi! Haha Make sure you stay tuned for next month’s party. It’ll be worth it.

PS. For some reason Roy and Evan are in half of my pictures…lol. And check out Unscripted’s blog for more of a recap.

Great Company. Great Music.

Posted in events, food, fun, jams by krisyee on May 3, 2011

Man have I been busy. The past two weekends have been crazy but filled with a lot of fun and laughter. Last weekend one of my closest friends got married (which I will post later) and this weekend was full of great company and good music. Friday night I headed out with some of my girls for an all girls dinner at Limón on Valencia in San Francisco. The food was freakin delicious. We tried a prefixed menu that served three of the cold appetizers, three warm appetizers and three of the main dishes. The sangria was pretty damn good…probably even better than Cha Cha Chas…

I had work all day Saturday and then headed out to Santa Clara with my friend Trae for the J Boog concert. I effin loved it. It was nice to be one of the shorter ones in the club. Haha

J Boog was awesome and if you don’t know who he is…maybe you’ve heard his song “Let’s Do it Again”. It makes me wanna be in Hawaii soooooooo bad.

Sunday I managed to make it to work in the morning and later that night headed out to Yoshi’s in SF for Goapele’s concert. It was probably the third time I’ve seen her in concert and she’s just as amazing as the first time. If you’ve never seen her, I suggest going.

Augs and Trae put me on a new artist by the name of Mateo and he happened to record a song with Goapele. So he showed up on stage with her to perform it. I absolutely love this song and can’t get this shit out of my head.

Successful weekend to say the least. Now to tackle this coming week and have another awesome weekend.

Cookies for a Cure

My friend Jessica Gee created C.U.M.F.O.R.T.S. (Contributing Unconditional Means For Research, Treatment, and Support) blanket when she joined Team in Training of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. With C.U.M.F.O.R.T.S. blanket, Jessica does not only fundraise to donate to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society but she also helps a person in need. With every monetary gift that someone contributes, Jessica hand crochets a 6″x6″ square. When a certain amount gets donated, each square is put together and turned into a blanket for someone that is battling leukemia. Each blanket represents $1,000 towards the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

This Saturday my good friend Regina is teaming up with Jessica to host a bake sale. Regina is a foodie and loves to bake so she is donating her time and delicious delights to help raise money for C.U.M.F.O.R.T.S. blanket. Both Jessica and Regina will be at Dolores Park in San Francisco this Saturday from 12pm-4pm. All items will be $1 and ALL PROCEEDS will be donated. So if you’re free, come out to enjoy a day in the park with delicious treats and help contribute for a good cause!

And P.S- Regina bakes really yummy treats!

Outside Lands 2011 Lineup

Posted in events, SF by krisyee on April 12, 2011

Every year San Francisco has a 3 day music and arts festival in Golden Gate Park called Outside Lands. I’ll admit that I’ve never gone, but living across the street from the park allowed me to hear the music, see a ton of people going to the festival, and enjoy hearing the crowd scream for various artists performing. Past events included bands and artists such as Kings of Leon, Chromeo, The Strokes, Incubus, Daves Matthews Band, M.I.A, Black Eyed Peas, Beastie Boys, and more. How do I know this since I’ve never been? I’ve been wanting to go for the past 2 years but I always decided too late and couldn’t get the days off. This year, I’m on it and Outside Lands has released the lineup for this August!

I believe the 3-day passes go on sale this Thursday April 14th at 12pm PST and I think tickets for single days will be at a later time. We’ll have to find out on Thursday!
