Vegas: Day 1

Posted in Uncategorized by krisyee on February 19, 2010

So I headed to Vegas for MAGIC again. I went to help with Adapt but also to represent a new line coming out (I’ll keep you posted). The night I got in I went out with some of the Breezy, Booger, and Gold Coin boys. We seriously just walked the strip and played beer pong. Yea, I said it. Beer pong in a Vegas casino. Take into consideration that we had no clue where we wanted to go so we walked from MGM all the way to the other side of the strip. Doesn’t seem too far but it SUCKS when you’re wearing heels. At least I got to walk by the new City Center.

Gucci and LV…the only two designer bags I want in my lifetime…for now.

BFFiHK

This guy…

BFFiHK aka Mister EugeneKan.com was trying to be slick about sending me a package by asking for my address and later on asking if I had received any packages in the mail (I’m pretty sure he was only sending me something because I sent him a care package in December). Haha So on Thursday night I came home to a package waiting for me at my doorstep. I noticed the return address being in LA and I sat there wondering what the hell it was that he sent me.

Eugene knows how busy my schedule is and he definitely knows that I don’t eat healthy. Having favorite foods like fried chicken and mashed potatoes are hard to give up…and especially my love for CARBS! If you know Eugene he’s kind of a health nut and sends me articles on how almonds keep you lean (which btw I’ve been eating). So he thought this would be appropriate for me especially since I’ve been going to the gym again and I’m always on the go.

I’ve never heard of anything like this and I think it’s awesome that I can create my own nutrition bars with ingredients THAT I LIKE! The way it works is I get to choose between different ingredients for the base, protein powders, nut/seeds, dried fruits and berries, sweeteners, seasonings, chocolates, and other tasty additions along with grains/cereals, and infusions. I even get to pick a name for my nutrition bar! Once I create it, I use my certificate and they’ll send me a box of MY nutrition bar.

I got to talk to Eugene that night and he told me what ingredients he would’ve put in it. I don’t think it would’ve been disgusting…but it didn’t have chocolate chips in it…which is the first ingredient that I will choose. Hahaha

The package also came with six bars that I can taste. The first one I ate was a Cashew and Honey bar which was pretty good. The second one was a breakfast bar which I wasn’t too fond of. Haha

I haven’t created my nutrition bar yet, but when I do I’ll be sure to post my ingredients.

Now to think of a clever name for it…

BTW, thanks BFFiHK for the gift!

Valentine’s Day

Posted in random by krisyee on February 5, 2010

I’m not sure how I feel about “Love Day” aka Valentine’s Day. I only have three memorable Valentine’s Days. The first one was when I was a sophomore in high school. I was at work when my friend showed up with a card that he drew himself, along with a poem and rose. The second was when I was a senior and another friend from a different high school showed up to my track practice with a dozen roses, chocolate, a cd mix, and a teddy bear (the sweetest ever!). And the last one I remember was when the Jordan XII’s got rereleased and my exbf gave me a card that said “Happy Valentine’s Day!” except the word “Valentine’s Day” was crossed out and substituted with “Jordan Day”.

I’m kind of torn about this “holiday”. Sure I’d love to spend it with someone that I like but I wouldn’t want to spend it with someone just because they asked me. Instead, I’d rather be in the presence of other friends that are single or even friends and family that I love. I was lucky enough to be with close friends last year and attended Pillow Fight in San Francisco. This year I’m most likely going to be with family, celebrating Chinese New Year. After New Years dinner, find me at the movies watching Valentine’s Day w/ a bag of popcorn and a white cherry icee.

I like the fact of celebrating love with the people in your life that you love (even though you should technically be showing that everyday), but sometimes you just wish you had someone to share it with.

I don’t hate Valentine’s Day. But I don’t love it either.

Pocky vs. Yan-Yan

Posted in random by krisyee on January 27, 2010

My girl Regina aka Reg aka RRRRé-Heeeee (roll the R’s) is one of my closest friends in the whole wide world. So close, my mom once introduced her as my “special” friend. And for those of you that don’t know…my mom once called my brother-in-law my sister’s “special” friend. So you get the picture, but it’s not like that. Lol

And since Regina left a comment on my last post to post more often (which by the way I know I haven’t been posting, but I’ve been pretty busy), I’ve decided to dedicate this post to her.

A few years ago we were hanging out and we were probably on the way home from eating when we started a discussion about why Pocky was better than Yan-Yan and vice versa. I was for Pocky because you don’t have to fuss with getting chocolate everywhere OR running out of chocolate! Reg for Yan-Yan because you’re not skimped on chocolate and you can put as much as you want. So we took a poll. While in the car…we started calling all our friends and whoever got to 11 votes first won. Or was it 21 votes? Anyways, something like that.

Well…to be honest Yan-Yan won the votes. BUT it wasn’t the REAL winner. A friend called us back and said that she actually preferred Hello Panda. HELLO PANDA?! Why didn’t we think of that?! HANDS DOWN THE WINNER. No fuss about chocolate or biting into a stick. Just pop it in your mouth and your mouth is filled with chocolate and short bread crackers. YUM.

So we both lose.

(this picture is hella old…)

So which one do you prefer?
