Mid Year Review

Posted in random by krisyee on August 10, 2014

More like mid year plus two months…

I really wanted to post more this year since I’ve been slowing down the past couple of years. But this year has been super busy. At the end of last year I left my job of 7 (or was it 8?) years and took a job at a bank in the financial district. Something new, something different, at a bank I never thought I would work at. But so far it’s been good and it’s definitely a learning experience. There’s still a big part of me that wishes I was in something more creative. But what exactly? I’m still working on that, but I’m still into the same things. Photography, fashion, anything where I get to be creative where my end product is something physical to show. I decided to take a fashion illustration class last semester. That was pretty fun and satisfied my creative cravings, but since then I’ve still been having trouble finding a way to let it out.

Hopefully I figure it out soon. Seems like that’s a constant struggle for me.

I’ve been reading more. I have time on Muni so I started reading some books. I FINALLY read the rest of the Hunger Games books. I picked up a couple of motivational books to help release my creative side. And then of course there were the motivational business books like #GirlBoss and Lean In. I have to say I enjoyed them. For the longest time I thought about starting my own business. But since I have the issue of what I have a passion for, it’s kind of hard to pick what kind of business I want to own.

I think it’s slowly but surely coming along…or will come along eventually.

Welp, I’ll update the blog with some of the year’s events later…hopefully.

Mid year review to be continued…

Random Rant: Man Up.

Posted in random, rants by krisyee on November 6, 2012

After class tonight I headed over to the bar across the street from my apartment. A couple of my “old” coworkers were there so I wanted to stop by and say “hi”. While I was catching up with one of them I asked how him and his girlfriend were. First off let me tell you that this guy can be a total ass sometimes and in his words, he’s an asshole. But with that said, he was telling me that him and his girlfriend were moving back in together. They lived together before and unfortunately broke up after feeling too “comfortable”. He opened up to me and confessed that he realized he was wrong and they eventually got back together. After telling me they were moving in again he couldn’t help but talk so highly of her. He proclaimed his love for her and expressed how great she was. A year ago when they first broke up, he wouldn’t have expressed those kind of feelings for her. To my surprise he was finally manning up. He was saying how strong they were and how he knew that even if they got pregnant by accident they would find a way to make it work. He was that confident in their relationship.

It got me thinking about guys manning up to their feelings and expressing how they feel for someone. I know a lot of guys that are scared of relationships, scared of commitments and just afraid to open up to someone in general. Don’t get me wrong, I know a lot of girls scared of those things too. But you mainly see it in guys. If you love someone, care about them and have feelings for them, why wouldn’t you want to express your feelings for them? The risk of getting hurt is always going to be there. So if you care for them that much isn’t it worth the risk? In my opinion my old coworker put his ego aside. He admitted he was scared but realized she was worth the risk.

I know it’s always easier said than done, but whether you’re a girl or a guy, man up and tell the person you love how you feel.

Five Loves

Posted in random, rants by krisyee on October 24, 2012

I first noticed this video on my Facebook newsfeed and decided to watch it after I saw that three different people had posted it. My first reaction to it was that I didn’t know how to react. I realized that the three people that had posted it were all guys. Then I started wondering, is this a guy thing? Were these guys more into it because it was coming from a guys perspective? Maybe. But then again the girl mentions her five loves at the end of the video. Five loves? Two questions…is five loves a lot? And do you think the sixth is really the last? While I found the video sentimental, emotional and deep, I couldn’t help but feel like it was a little too much. Don’t get me wrong, I thought the video was good but it made me think. And for those of you that don’t know me, I have a tendency to sometimes over think. Those of you who know me, yea i said sometimes, live with it. Haha.

Seriously though. Do those five loves include the one that got away? The one that broke your heart? What about the one that could have been but never was? Hmm I guess that one applied to the “what” in the video.

But then we go back to so called love…it can easily bring up the question…what is love? How do you know it was love? What if it was just lust? Have you ever looked back on a relationship and asked to yourself, “what was I thinking”? For all you know your so called “love” was really lust. And sadly, you probably won’t realize it until you really fall in love. That itself can become a whole other discussion.

For those that watched this video, what are your thoughts? I personally don’t hate it, but I’m hesitant to say I really liked it.

Random: Tech Support for Relationships

Posted in random by krisyee on April 25, 2012

A friend posted this on Facebook. I thought it was hilarious considering everything is like an electronic or some type of software/application these days. Enjoy!

Dear Tech Support,

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0

In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such
as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, and then installed undesirable
programs such as EPL 5.0, NBA 3.0. and UEFA Cup 4.1,.

Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes
the system. I’ve tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail.
What can I do?

Yours Desperate
=========================

Dear Desperate:

First keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package,
while Husband 1.0 is an Operating System.

Please enter the command: “http: I Thought You Loved Me.html”
and try to download Tears 6.2 and don’t forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update.

If that application works as designed, Husband 1.0 should
then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and
Flowers 3.5. But remember, over use of the above application
can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5,
Happy Hour 7.0, or Beer 6.1.

Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will download the Snoring Loudly Beta.

Whatever you do, DO NOT install Mother-in-law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources).

Also, do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0 program. These are
unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0.

In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited
memory and cannot learn new applications quickly.

You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend Hot Food 3.0 and Lingerie 7.7.
Good Luck,

Tech Support

Lately…

Posted in random by krisyee on February 28, 2012

Still having a hard time getting my mind off things but here’s what I’ve been doing to try to keep myself occupied…

I finally went back to the gym. Fern had me lifting dead weights so I pulled out my gloves. Looks like it’s time for a new pair.

Great book. I’m planning on reading it again after I finish The Hunger Games.

There were things about the book that I felt I was relating to.

My snowboard finally got to say “hi” to the snow.

Someone please tell me what kind of flowers these are!

My ladies ❤

Adapt Grand Opening

First time making blackened salmon. Actually…first time making salmon in general. It was pretty good though. Definitely using that recipe again.

Abi did a post on my closet for Hellz.

The Best of My 2011

Some photos that made my 2011.

Really?

Am I the only one that thinks these lyrics are fucked up? Lol The chorus at least? It’s like when you’re at the club and they turn on the lights…”lights are on, everyone’s ugly!”.  I seriously started laughing when I heard this in the car last night. Not saying the beat is whack or anything. It’s kind of catchy…but really? It’s like basically saying you want to put a paper bag over a girls head. Lol Even one of my boy’s asked what girl would like this song. And I’m sorry Chris Brown…you ain’t Sisqo with that hairdo.

The Last Month

Posted in prints, random by krisyee on July 14, 2011

Like I said in my previous post, I’ve been pretty busy. These are some photos from the past month from either bachelorette parties, San Diego, 4th of July, my family reunion, etc.

Sorry Again…

Posted in random by krisyee on July 12, 2011

…For being M.I.A. I’ve been pretty busy with summer school and changes that have been going on at work. Summer school was only for a month but it was twice a week, 4 hours each class. So I had to really stay on top of my shit. And then there was some schedule changes at work that basically meant I was working an extra day. Besides the regular school and work schedule, I headed to San Diego one weekend, attended birthday parties, a family reunion and a wedding, not to mention 4th of July shenanigans. I promise I’ll be back soon!

Until then…if you haven’t heard JR Aquino’s new song…enjoy.

Do You Remember: The Canuckmobile?

Posted in do you remember, random by krisyee on June 3, 2011

If you’re from Vancouver…I’m sure you’re a Canucks fan. I however, am not. Growing up in the Bay Area and having a brother that plays hockey, I’m a Sharks fan. Although I’ll admit, I’m not a die hard fan…only because I can NEVER see where the puck is when watching a game on TV. But being a former figure skater (not really…I was like…12)…I definitely respect any sport on skates. 🙂 Haha ANYWAYS…if you’re from Vancouver you might remember the Canuckmobile back in 1994. Yea, that was my cousin and his friend that created it. Looks like my Uncle’s trying to recreate the Canuckmobile since they’re in the Stanley Cup Finals.

You can read the article HERE.

I may  not be a Canucks fan, but I love my family in Vancouver! Lol
