Do Actions Always Speak Louder Than Words?

Posted in random by krisyee on June 30, 2010

*Sorry if I’m rambling…but it’s been on my mind and I’ve had some alcohol in my system.*

We all know the saying “actions speak louder that words”. And I’ve been in relationships where I waited for the actions to catch up to the words, yet the words just happened to be nothing but words and the actions never led me to believe otherwise. Now the tables have turned. While actions are showing me one thing, the words have yet to be said. And to be honest, no words have been said. I’m starting to believe there has to be some type of balance. A balance between the actions that are being done and the words that are or need to be said. I’m not asking for the three little words, but more of an understanding of one’s feelings. How is it that you have someone by your side but at times, you still feel alone?

Please let me know if I’m talking nonsense.

Root Canal

Posted in random by krisyee on March 24, 2010

Yesterday I had my first root canal. I’ve had a tooth ache for the last two weeks and I’m not exactly sure what was wrong with my root but I already had a filling on that tooth. Anyways, I’ve heard stories of people getting root canals saying it hurts and everything but I hardly felt a thing. I was so numb I couldn’t even feel my own lip. A little more than halfway through the procedure the doctor needed to take a couple x-rays and wait for something to dry. While he was doing that he went to check on another patient, so of course I took a picture of myself with the instruments in my mouth. Lol

First off, they put those glasses on me because the light was shining down the whole time. You can’t see it, but there’s this thing in my mouth that lets me rest my teeth on it so that I don’t strain myself trying to keep my mouth open that long. And that green thingie is crazy. It kept the tooth that they were working on separated from the other teeth! How it stayed in my mouth, I have no clue. But hope you got a giggle out of this! Lol

BFFiHK

Posted in random by krisyee on February 8, 2010

This guy…

BFFiHK aka Mister EugeneKan.com was trying to be slick about sending me a package by asking for my address and later on asking if I had received any packages in the mail (I’m pretty sure he was only sending me something because I sent him a care package in December). Haha So on Thursday night I came home to a package waiting for me at my doorstep. I noticed the return address being in LA and I sat there wondering what the hell it was that he sent me.

Eugene knows how busy my schedule is and he definitely knows that I don’t eat healthy. Having favorite foods like fried chicken and mashed potatoes are hard to give up…and especially my love for CARBS! If you know Eugene he’s kind of a health nut and sends me articles on how almonds keep you lean (which btw I’ve been eating). So he thought this would be appropriate for me especially since I’ve been going to the gym again and I’m always on the go.

I’ve never heard of anything like this and I think it’s awesome that I can create my own nutrition bars with ingredients THAT I LIKE! The way it works is I get to choose between different ingredients for the base, protein powders, nut/seeds, dried fruits and berries, sweeteners, seasonings, chocolates, and other tasty additions along with grains/cereals, and infusions. I even get to pick a name for my nutrition bar! Once I create it, I use my certificate and they’ll send me a box of MY nutrition bar.

I got to talk to Eugene that night and he told me what ingredients he would’ve put in it. I don’t think it would’ve been disgusting…but it didn’t have chocolate chips in it…which is the first ingredient that I will choose. Hahaha

The package also came with six bars that I can taste. The first one I ate was a Cashew and Honey bar which was pretty good. The second one was a breakfast bar which I wasn’t too fond of. Haha

I haven’t created my nutrition bar yet, but when I do I’ll be sure to post my ingredients.

Now to think of a clever name for it…

BTW, thanks BFFiHK for the gift!

Valentine’s Day

Posted in random by krisyee on February 5, 2010

I’m not sure how I feel about “Love Day” aka Valentine’s Day. I only have three memorable Valentine’s Days. The first one was when I was a sophomore in high school. I was at work when my friend showed up with a card that he drew himself, along with a poem and rose. The second was when I was a senior and another friend from a different high school showed up to my track practice with a dozen roses, chocolate, a cd mix, and a teddy bear (the sweetest ever!). And the last one I remember was when the Jordan XII’s got rereleased and my exbf gave me a card that said “Happy Valentine’s Day!” except the word “Valentine’s Day” was crossed out and substituted with “Jordan Day”.

I’m kind of torn about this “holiday”. Sure I’d love to spend it with someone that I like but I wouldn’t want to spend it with someone just because they asked me. Instead, I’d rather be in the presence of other friends that are single or even friends and family that I love. I was lucky enough to be with close friends last year and attended Pillow Fight in San Francisco. This year I’m most likely going to be with family, celebrating Chinese New Year. After New Years dinner, find me at the movies watching Valentine’s Day w/ a bag of popcorn and a white cherry icee.

I like the fact of celebrating love with the people in your life that you love (even though you should technically be showing that everyday), but sometimes you just wish you had someone to share it with.

I don’t hate Valentine’s Day. But I don’t love it either.

Pocky vs. Yan-Yan

Posted in random by krisyee on January 27, 2010

My girl Regina aka Reg aka RRRRé-Heeeee (roll the R’s) is one of my closest friends in the whole wide world. So close, my mom once introduced her as my “special” friend. And for those of you that don’t know…my mom once called my brother-in-law my sister’s “special” friend. So you get the picture, but it’s not like that. Lol

And since Regina left a comment on my last post to post more often (which by the way I know I haven’t been posting, but I’ve been pretty busy), I’ve decided to dedicate this post to her.

A few years ago we were hanging out and we were probably on the way home from eating when we started a discussion about why Pocky was better than Yan-Yan and vice versa. I was for Pocky because you don’t have to fuss with getting chocolate everywhere OR running out of chocolate! Reg for Yan-Yan because you’re not skimped on chocolate and you can put as much as you want. So we took a poll. While in the car…we started calling all our friends and whoever got to 11 votes first won. Or was it 21 votes? Anyways, something like that.

Well…to be honest Yan-Yan won the votes. BUT it wasn’t the REAL winner. A friend called us back and said that she actually preferred Hello Panda. HELLO PANDA?! Why didn’t we think of that?! HANDS DOWN THE WINNER. No fuss about chocolate or biting into a stick. Just pop it in your mouth and your mouth is filled with chocolate and short bread crackers. YUM.

So we both lose.

(this picture is hella old…)

So which one do you prefer?

How To Shop…

Posted in random by krisyee on November 19, 2009

…for a car.

My car’s in the shop and if it costs less than $2Gs to fix then I’ll be okay for a few months…hopefully a few years. If not, then I have to start looking for a new car…and probably a new or second job to pay a monthly car payment. Eek.

The valves on my car burnt out and I’m waiting on my pops for the verdict. So I started thinking about what kind of car I’d want to get if I have to get one. Do I get the car I really really want? Or do I settle for something just to get me by?

I’m not into expensive cars, but if you ask me what kind of luxury car I’d get I would say either a BMW M3 or M5, Mercedes CKL, Audi A5, or a Cadillac CTS. One day I’ll have one of those cars…just like how one day I will own a Louis bag and a Gucci bag…just saying.

When I say a car I “really really” want, I’m not talking about those luxury cars. I’m talking stuff like a Civic Si vs a regular Civic. Or a Subaru WRX vs a Scion. They each have about a $7G difference. For example I could live with a regular Civic, but I’d rather have the Civic Si. After having a car that has 170hp I really don’t want to go down in horsepower. And lets face it, having a WRX would just be fun. First of all, it’s a sedan which is something I usually don’t go for. But it would be easier to access the back seat and easier for people to get in and out of the car. Second, it’s well over 170hp. And third, it’s all wheel drive which is perfect to go up to Tahoe for snowboarding (then I wouldn’t have to borrow my parents Highlander). I figure I’d be investing in something right? So why not invest in something I actually want? Money IS a factor though. Can someone tell me how the APR and all that ish works? I have never bought a car before. Haha

And then there’s the question, do I buy it new or used? I bought my GSR in 02′ and it’s a 97′. So it’s about 12 years old now. It ran pretty good so I don’t really have anything against used cars. Should I just buy a beater for the time being?

Oye. Suggestions please?!

Oh and P.S- If you know anyone selling a car let me know! Haha
