Treasure Island Music Festival
The Treasure Island Music Festival is this Saturday and Sunday. Looks like the line up is pretty good. Make sure you get your tickets early!

Lifted Roots
Last week I went to Octopus Lounge for a friend’s birthday and also to check out his brother’s reggae band, Lifted Roots. It wasn’t the first time I saw them play but it was the first time to see them with a new girl singer and a new guitarist. They cover songs from bands such as Katchafire and Bob Marley, but also play their own songs that they’ve created. I’ve known Adrian (vocals and keyboard) since kindergarten and let me just say these guys are talented.
Happy bday Dean. Augs&Heeze.

Check out some of their songs and concerts on their YouTube page.
If you have the time, check them out July 10th @ Octopus Lounge in Pacifica. No cover. No dresscode. Just good reggae music.
Erykah Badu & Goapele Concert
Hawaii day 3 was awesome.
First off we headed to Boots & Kimo’s, a breakfast joint suggested by Rach. DEEEEELICIOUS. Be prepared to wait over an hour for it…even if you order it to go. But damn, it’s well worth it.

*in the middle, banana macadamia nut pancakes w/ macadamia nut pancake sauce…YUM. the omelet’s were hella good too!
The rest of the day we chilled on the beach and got ready for the Erykah Badu & Goapele concert!
We headed to Aloha Tower where the concert was. It was beautiful outside.

We ran into our friend Carlo there from the Bay and also KevRoc!
Amel Larrieux @ Yoshi’s SF
Mos Def Concert
I SWEAR I’m everyone’s back up date. Don’t get me wrong here, I’m not complaining. I’m just saying. Haha I got lucky one time and my friend asked me to go to the Kanye concert the night before! This time Tina asked me if I wanted to go to the Mos Def concert @ the Mezzanine with her since our friend Augs couldn’t make it. So of course, I went. Which reminds me…I owe you $25 Tina.
So anyways, it was my first time there and the concert was dope. I took some videos so check em’ out!
Supernatural…so dope.
Goapele came out on stage!
She brought out a friend…DAVE CHAPPELLE! Lol
And of course…Mos Def…I recorded him when he first came out so there wasn’t a lot of him actually performing…but dancing around. LOL
San Quinn and Dead Prez performed too. Got videos but I haven’t uploaded them.
Thanks Tina for the invite!
